Hon. Mohamed Mohamoud Isse currently serves as the 2nd Deputy Speaker of the Puntland Parliament, elected to this role on January 4, 2024.
Hon. Mohamed journey into public service and leadership began with his education at AL-Muntadaa School in Qardho, followed by earning a Diploma in Business Administration from the Puntland Institute for Development of Administration and Management. He continued his academic pursuits at the International University of Africa, where he attained a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
Prior to his parliamentary role, Hon. Mohamed held several key positions contributing significantly to various sectors.
Notably, he served as the Chairman of East Africa University and played a crucial role as the General Secretary of the Puntland State National Reconciliation Committee. His expertise was also evident in his involvement with the Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC), particularly during the People and Voice Elections in Puntland.
His professional career includes roles such as Vice Chancellor of Administration and Finance at East Africa University, Director of Al-Minhaaj Foundation, and Business Development Manager at Amal Bank.
Hon. Mohamed is esteemed for his dedication to social work and philanthropy, impacting community development and education initiatives positively. His proficiency in economic and business matters has been instrumental in shaping policy and governance in Puntland.
His election as the 2nd Deputy Speaker of the Puntland Parliament underscores his leadership qualities and commitment to advancing legislative processes for the betterment of the region.
