The Head of the Production Department at the Office of Media and Communications of the Puntland Parliament, Mr. Hanad Ali Jama Hikmaawi, officially opened a training workshop today for 30 journalists representing both public and independent media outlets.

The three-day training program focuses on enhancing journalistic skills in key areas such as parliamentary reporting, media ethics, and the use of modern digital tools in journalism. The initiative is part of the Puntland Parliament’s broader efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and public awareness of legislative affairs.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Hanad Ali Jama Hikmaawi emphasized the importance of empowering media professionals, stating that journalists play a vital role in informing the public and supporting democratic governance. He also reiterated the Parliament’s commitment to building strong partnerships with the media to ensure accurate and responsible reporting.

Participants expressed their gratitude to the Office of Media and Communications for the opportunity and pledged to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the training to improve the quality and integrity of their journalistic work.
